Bobby Davis is a retired Colonel after serving the United States Marine Corps Reserves for over 30 years. A long-time native of Greenville County and graduate of Greenville High School, Davis served as a teacher, coach and athletic director for 30 years with 26 of those years in the South Carolina public school system. He currently serves as chairman of the Appellate Board for the South Carolina High School League for the 4th Congressional District.
Prior to his appointment to the Appellate Board, Davis served in the following roles:
- Assisted the Second Marine Division deployment of 18,000 Marines to take part in the invasion of Iraq.
- Deployed to Iraq with the First Marine Expeditionary Force
- Served on the Greenville County Human Relations Board
- Appointed by former Gov. Nikki Haley to the Greenville Arena Board
Davis received his Master of Arts and Education Specialist degrees from Clemson University. His undergraduate degrees are from Bob Jones and Southern Wesleyan Universities. He attended the United States Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School and Command and Staff College, the Naval War College and the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
Davis is married to Kathy (Shelton) of 42 years. They reside in Taylors and are active members of Heritage Bible Church. Bobby and Kathy have been active in local politics since 1978 and have attended many county and state conventions.
